About the project
In Maps of Misterra, players are cartographers mapping the mysterious island of Misterra. Each player draws landscapes on their own Parchment while modifying the shared Island board, where unclaimed terrain can still change. Balancing secret Presumption objectives against the accuracy of your map creates constant interaction.
Challenges and Risks
- Two boards to keep in sync: each player’s Parchment compared to the shared Island for scoring and tie-breaks
- A full turn that can be cancelled at any time before confirmation
- Simultaneous choice of secret objectives, each with its own scoring rule
- Special rules and edge cases (Lagoon discard, Jungle freeze, empty deck)
- A complete modernization to TypeScript and the new BGA framework
